Now that I have tried the dandelion leaves, I would definitely buy them again. I really enjoyed them sautéed and would love to try them if they are cooked «properly». I also think they would be very raw, mixed with a salad with other sweeter greens. In the meantime, I read more about dandelion root. Not only is it an effective diuretic and a mild but effective and non-addictive laxative (as it helps the body release bile to promote intestinal peristalsis), but it is also useful for regulating blood sugar for hypoglycemia and diabetes, and it improves the body`s ability to digest and regulate fats. I experience D again. Maybe too hard work until Monday to make much needed awnings before the rain arrives. I did it on time, but the last 2 days I ran too much to the bathroom. I started combining olive leaf tea with dandelion and yellow dock to counter the effects of working with all the tar for the rolling roof – and now I realize it was a mistake. I seem to tolerate Now`s olive leaf extract capsules, but not olive leaf tea, especially with dandelion and yellow dock which has been my reserve for years as I tend to be more C than D. So all this D is very strange, isn`t it? Olive leaf is a powerful antifungal, antiviral, antimicrobial and antibacterial agent, so maybe I should just use what my body seems to be saying.
I have to learn things the hard way again and again. I intend to go back to the olive leaf caps as they seem to be safer for me. There is a new product market that has opened not far from my home and where I like to shop because they have beautiful products and amazing prices. I was walking down their driveway with greens the other day when I noticed they had dandelion greens for sale. I had never eaten green dandelion before and thought they were well sautéed with oil and garlic for a seasonal spring dish. So Ali, what`s going on?? I would like to live nearby and be able to help determine what is what. Enlarged lymph, etc. seems to be worrisome. That`s why I proposed the olive leaf.
Now I would say take that or the dandelion. By the way, dandelion is very good if you have heart problems – because it is a diahretic that also provides you with potassium. Given my example, I wouldn`t combine olive leaf with much of anything. You should drink plenty of water the next day – at least 4 cups of water during the day after drinking 1/2 of the diluted olive leaf tea. It`s so strong. That`s why things like dandelion root and yellow dock, for example, can help you if you`re struggling to cope with the fungus, microbial and viral, etc. die better than if you only took the right olive leaf yourself – especially if you have liver or intestinal problems (lol!). Echinacea or cutting knife can help remove detritus with lymph (like that enlarged mass under your armpit!!).
Your kidneys might become irritated like mine, so again, dandelion helps and splits – more («bad» non-scd) marshmallow root, which is especially good against any irritation. My best suggestion is to have half the olive leaf tea in the morning and the other half in the evening. I also have nothing against bitter greens. In fact, I love them. Especially in the spring. Bitter green has a cleansing effect on the body and is good for the liver and gallbladder. So I thought dandelion green tasted delicious. However, I learned that for those who think they are too bitter, you can cook them for a while before frying them, which reduces the bitterness. Swiss chard (red, green, rainbow and Swiss).
Swiss chard is similar to spinach/celery, so it`s legal. It also reminds me a bit of the cabbage family, so use it with caution if gas is still an issue – Elaine, I bought a battery and she stayed in my fridge for a few days before I had a chance to do anything with it. I thought I could just throw it in a saucepan with oil and garlic and it would be good to go, so I did. I heated coconut oil and added the dandelion green. I sautéed them until they withered, then added garlic powder (I didn`t have fresh garlic), salt and pepper. I served them on a plate with hot sauce on top. (I like the hot sauce on my greens. I think that`s all the time I`ve spent in the South.) The more acidic environment would favor things like Candida – which, if the above «theory» is true, will only thrive in this fake environment. Soil – Water – Food – Plant. An endless cycle. Give bad food to the ground and suffer from the result………. What was your entrance Katie? Are you sure everything was okay when you started your journey? Did you use some of your original batch or did you buy fresh starter yogurt? Elaine always suggested using fresh yogurt or a probiotic culture whenever there were contamination problems.
○ Vegetables and fruits○ Soluble fiber (steel cut oats, ground flaxseed, lentils, beans)○ Good proteins and fats (beans, nuts, olive oil, avocado, ground flaxseed, fish, soybeans)○ Probiotics (yogurt, kefir, miso, kimchi, sauerkraut, local honey)○ Prebiotics (artichokes, leeks, asparagus) The other thing I learned, which I think is very important, is to crush the greens before cooking and remove the thicker stems. It is so much easier to eat/chew the greens. I cooked all these things and although they are definitely edible, they would have been easier to eat if they had been chopped first. By the way, Graeme gets a lot of benefits from it, after having, as I said, a bumpy start for about 2 or 3 days. He takes a short teaspoon. A powder day. Some acidifying foods can be good in small amounts when eaten with plenty of alkaline foods to balance them, but our Western diet, which is high in protein, carbohydrates, sugars, and dairy products, is very rich in mostly acidifying foods, which naturally imbalances our body`s chemistry. Of course, many people with gluten intolerance have intestinal damage and this can affect the body`s ability to digest and absorb these essential nutrients. It is even more important that they get the best nutritional value from their food. It only shows – if you are good and patient, nothing will ever be done. I suspect that those who do it are the ones who can shout the loudest! Obviously, different areas of the body must be more acidic or alkaline, depending on their function, it is the areas that are unbalanced that are the most worrying. ** All phases build on each other and foods specified for earlier phases can also be consumed in later phases: Phase I recipes can be used in Phases II and III.
Phase II recipes can be used in Phase III, etc. This may be another area where sickle cell disease fits in pretty well – alkalinization. Maybe it helps because it reduces acidity in the body – certainly eliminating grains, starch, sugar and dairy products would drastically reduce the acid load on the body. Maybe Elaine was on the right track, but didn`t really realize what the real reason for the success was. Yes, removing these foods helps control the «beasts,» but it also helps the body rebalance its pH, and that may be the key. I agree – if you can avoid surgery or medication, it`s always better. Still, it`s a good idea to get examined to see what`s going on. During this time, I have read and found that olive leaf tea is just as effective as extract. As it stands, I wouldn`t recommend the extract as it`s usually made with alcohol – which is very suspicious for us with gluten difficulties. It`s too cold for the fruit here, but if I could at least get a few leaves, it would be helpful! I chose two tiny ones and nibbled a little – yes, they are very bitter – not surprised if the beasts do not like it very much! ○ Refined sugar and certain starches○ Cereals (oatmeal and oatmeal are allowed)○ Lactose (anything that contains milk or cream) All opinions appreciated. It`s been a while since I`ve made homemade yogurt, and I can`t wait to do it again.
I want to do it in the best, most healing way possible. I don`t know if the mistake came from the doctor, the surgery or the hospital, but I`m pretty eviscerated. I`ve been struggling with this for 6 months. I`ve been up and down with this, but it`s now getting to the point where the things I`ve done before don`t work so well, so I have to check it out now. www.olivus.com/preparation_olive_leaf.htm#recipies I have a question about my GI Pro Health yogurt starter. I came home from college for a break and had the probiotics in the car for 5 hours with two frozen «iced» bags in a container. However, when I got home, the bags were at room temperature. I immediately put the aperitif in the fridge and made a batch of yogurt. The first batch turned out to be a little different from what I`m used to, as if it had almost no taste, except that it was bitter and spicy than usual. When I brought the bacteria back, I made sure it was cold and the bottle was even fresh when I removed it. I made a batch that was taken yesterday and it was so weird! It was like eating sour cream, thicker than ever and of a strange consistency. It also didn`t taste like the usual yogurt, but actually looked more like sour cream.
My instincts are certainly not happy with me today and I am a little worried.
