The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated lockdown is unprecedented and has been compared to the First and Second World Wars. It is already affecting all major economies, with major international organizations revising their estimates of the GDP growth rate in each country. The lockdown has almost completely paralyzed operations in India, straining the cash flow and reserves of almost every organization. This has raised questions such as whether payments must be made to the workforce at those times and whether workers or workers can be laid off if there is no work? The purpose of this webinar is to provide an overview of the legal framework for labour and employment-related issues facing businesses and industries in the country and how it interacts with other labour-related laws.
